Don Williams

Dr. Don Williams (a.k.a. gandalf30598) is a poet, writer, and professor of English at Toccoa Falls College in Toccoa Falls, Georgia. He is a lover of philosophy, literature, and life, and it all shows in his latest collection of poetry, Stars Through the Clouds.

Don was born into a Christian home. As a high school student, he went through a spiritual crisis over the unwillingness of the fundamentalist church of which he was a member to deal with the intellectual doubts he was experiencing. It was not so much the lack of answers as the very attitude toward the questions that was troubling. As Providence would have it, Don was introduced to the writings of C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, and Francis Schaeffer, who were used by God to save him from apostasy. He came out of that experience with a firm commitment to the integration of faith and learning as essential to any faith and any learning that had a right to make claims to spiritual integrity. Don started the writers’ group that spawned the writers’ group that spawned Lantern Hollow Press.
